As India prepares for the upcoming Asia Cup and the subsequent ICC ODI World Cup, a lot of expectations have come up for skipper Rohit Sharma.

Former India cricketer, Aakash Chopra has recently stated that he is expecting Rohit to be in his top form throughout the World Cup.

Meanwhile, as the marquee event is being solely hosted by India, they are therefore being considered favorites to win the tournament.

Moreover, their top three Rohit, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli will be expecting to go all guns blazing in the tournament.

That’s why Chopra has highlighted and appreciated India’s top order for the ODI World Cup.

He says that Rohit should score centuries, play big in the global tournament, and help India win the cup once again.

When we talk about the top three, it seems like who is better than us? Sare jahan se acha Hindustan hamara- you get a feeling like that from within because we have Shubman Gill alongside Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will come after them.

Adding further, he says,

Rohit Sharma has scored more than 9800 runs. He has scored 30 centuries, has an average of nearly 49, and a strike rate of 90. It’s almost similar in Asia. So you can assume that Rohit Sharma is going to hit you. If he plays all nine matches, he should score two centuries and one daddy hundred as an opener. I am expecting that.

A look at Rohit’s stats in ODI cricket

Furthermore, talking about Rohit’s stats in ODI cricket, he has played 244 ODIs and has mustered 9837 runs.

Additionally, he has an average of 48.69 and has 30 tons in this format so far.

Therefore, India will be expecting a lot from him, and his performance can make or break it for the team and the fans.

India will start off their ODI World Cup campaign against Australia on the 8th of October in Chennai.
