Former India and Kolkata Knight Riders player, Gautam Gambhir recently met up with Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh is one of the co-owners of the franchise and Gambhir’s relationship with it goes a long time back.

The former KKR skipper has given the team two wins in the tournament which came in 2012 and 2014.

Now, he has hung up his playing boots and is now the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants since their inception last year.

Meanwhile, Gambhir took to social media and posted his picture with Shah Rukh Khan and captioned the post saying,

He’s not just the king of Bollywood but the king of hearts. Every time we meet, I go back with endless love and respect. So much to learn from u. Simply the best SRK.

After seeing the post, KKR player, Nitish Rana retweeted the post saying,

True kings in their own fields! Could this be a sign of a homecoming? Just wondering.

Kolkata Knight Riders had a subpar performance in this year’s IPL

Talking about this year’s IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders were below average in their performances as they didn’t win many games.

Also, they missed their regular skipper, Shreyas Iyer who remained out of the tournament owing to a back injury. Nitish Rana led the side in the former’s absence.

After many such low performances, the fans have expressed their wish to include Gautam Gambhir as a coach in the KKR staff.

Meanwhile, the franchise finished seventh in the points table as they failed to score big in some games and let go of important chances.

The likes of Rinku Singh, stand-in skipper Rana, and spinner Varun Chakravarthy managed to grab eyeballs but that was all.

Out of their 14 games, KKR won only 6 games in this year’s IPL.
