Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam in his pre-match presser has stated that he is all set to face India.

Notably, today is a high-stakes game between the arch-rivals at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Both teams are off to winning starts in this edition of the tournament, registering two wins from two games.

Hence, both of them will be eager to upstage the other, more so for India, because they have to maintain their unbroken streak.

In the 7 games that these sides have played, India has emerged victorious in all 7 and now wants to win this battle for the 8th time.

For Pakistan, they will look to win their first-ever World Cup game against India and make it 7-1.

Says Babar on facing India in today’s game,

I don’t focus on the past. Let’s focus on the thing to come as we know records are meant to be broken. We will try to play well and it all depends on how you play on the day, just like we did in the first two matches.

Meanwhile, Babar has also instructed his team to make the most of the opportunity at Ahmedabad even if they face more of India’s supporters because this is a golden opportunity for them.

The India-Pakistan match is a big game, high intensity. Every such game is challenging. I have told (the players) it’s the best opportunity to perform. It is a big stadium that can accomodate many fans, it’s a golden opportunity for us to perform in front of these fans. Didn’t we break the Twenty20 record? I am not worried about the past.

Babar says that they are not under pressure and talks about conditions at Ahmedabad

Moreover, Babar has also talked about not feeling pressure while playing against India in India even though there will be 132,000 spectators cheering for the home side.

It’s not pressure. We have played at big stadiums like the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). But, yes, all the support, I think, in Ahmedabad will be for India. It would have been better had Pakistan fans been allowed. But I expect fans will also support us as well.

Furthermore, he has also talked about the conditions at Ahmedabad which are very different compared to those in Hyderabad where they played two warm-up games and two main games of the ODI World Cup.

Meanwhile, he also says that Shaheen Shah Afridi is their go-to bowler in this game.

Yes, the conditions here are different. You are better off at a venue where you have spent a few days but we will adapt. He is our main bowler. Shaheen himself has a belief that he is a big match bowler.
