Wasim Akram comments on the Indian team being favorites ahead of the IND vs ENG. India will face England on October 29 in Lucknow.
IND VS ENG: WASIM AKRAM COMMENTS
Pakistan’s former cricketer Wasim Akram comments on India being the favorites on October 29 in the IND vs ENG match. However, Wasim Akram also believes that the Men in Blue should be cautious of their rivals. He further said that England may come up with a whole new style of cricket. The defending champions England, are currently dangling in the bottom three spots. The England cricket team so far has lost three games out of four in the World Cup 2023. To guard their position in the semi-finals, England needs to win the remaining games. Amidst the England cricket team underperforming in the World Cup 2023, Wasim Akram believes that they might put all effort and energy into the next game. Speaking exclusively to Sportskeeda alongside former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth, Wasim Akram commented on IND vs ENG and said,
“India are favorites to win against England, but England are wounded lions. They will know that they have to win and that could see them approach the game differently. However, India have played with controlled aggression.”
With five victories out of five, Sreesanth is really pleased with the way India has played cricket so far. In an attempt to inspire optimism that the Men in Blue may win the championship he drew an example of the unbeaten Australian squad from the 2003 World Cup. S Sreesanth said that the Indian team may achieve tournament dominance and victory in a manner like that of the Australian squad in 2003 World Cup.
“I hope India emulate the Australian team of 2003 and go unbeaten in the entire World Cup. As an ex-cricketer and an Indian, I want the team that has done well in an all-round way to win and that’s been India so far.”
