In today’s ODI World Cup 2023 game, it is India up against Bangladesh at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer, Parthiv Patel talked about Hardik Pandya’s injury during the first innings.

Losing the toss and bowling first, India successfully reduced the Bangla Tigers to 256/8 in their 50 overs.

However, at first, it appeared that Bangladesh would post a mammoth score of 300-400 runs for India to chase.

But, thankfully, the bowlers stepped in to chip quick wickets to stop them at a good enough total.

Meanwhile, to break the opening partnership, Rohit turned to his trump card, Hardik Pandya, and asked him to dismiss either of the two batters.

As Hardik opened his bowling spell against Bangladesh, he was hit for two back-to-back fours after giving a dot in his first ball.

While trying to stop the second ball from going towards the boundary, he put his ankle in the way of the ball but got it badly twisted.

It affected Hardik’s run-up and he was seen wobbling in the field and in pain as the team physio rushed in to check up on him.

Additionally, he was quickly given treatment for his foot and his ankle was taped up. Meanwhile, Rohit and Kohli could be seen assessing the situation through a discussion.

When it became clear that Hardik would not continue, Kohli completed his over and gave only two runs.

Parthiv says that if it hadn’t been serious, Hardik would’ve returned to the field

Commenting on Hardik’s ankle injury, former India cricketer, Parthiv Patel says,

I think it could be very dangerous, because usually when an ankle twist happens, it doesn’t take that long. If it is okay, you start playing. From an Indian point of view, we can hope that it was just a precaution and they just took him off the field. Maybe take a painkiller and see how he is feeling. But he definitely looked in pain and if he is injured that will be a big blow for India.

Moreover, Parthiv also feels that Hardik not being able to play for India is bad news at this point.

Meanwhile, everyone from fans to cricket experts are eagerly awaiting further news on Hardik Pandya’s injury.

If he gets injured during this phase of the tournament, it could spell doom for India as he is an important piece of the puzzle in the team’s playing XI.

Moreover, Hardik has taken five wickets and his power-hitting has saved India from difficult situations.

Furthermore, the BCCI has given a fresh update on Pandya’s injury and tweeted saying,

Hardik Pandya’s injury is being assessed at the moment and he is being taken for scans.
