Kohli says that he would like to face some real pace test against England

Virat Kohli Naveen-ul-Haq

Star India batter, Virat Kohli is going through a purple patch in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.

He is all set to face England in tomorrow’s clash at Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium and hopes that he will get to play real pace.

Talking about both teams, India is the only unbeaten team in the tournament and would like to move up the points table again.

On the other hand, England is languishing in 9th place in the points table with just one win in five games.

Therefore, they would hope to beat India tomorrow to keep their hopes alive to grab a semifinal spot.

However, that would depend entirely on their performances and the results of other clashes in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Kohli has named the bowler from England that he would like to face in the match tomorrow and stated that he is a very good pacer.

Mark Wood, I have played against Mark Wood. I think he is a great bowler, he has skillset to trouble the batsmen, so I would like to test myself against real pace.

Kohli talks highly of Adil Rashid and wants to try Joe Root’s reverse slap shot

Furthermore, Kohli has also spoken highly of spinner Adil Rashid and stated that he is a very challenging bowler.

Adil Rashid is a very underrated bowler and he has been doing amazingly well for England, a very challenging bowler that I am looking forward to play against.

Meanwhile, Kohli enjoys a fairly good record against Rashid in ODI cricket. With an average of 70.66, Kohli has gotten out to Rashid only three times in the format.

Additionally, Kohli also commented on Joe Root and said that he would like to replicate the latter’s reverse slap shot.

Joe Root is a great all round, the way he plays the reverse slap, I would like to take that shot.

After enjoying a full week’s rest in the beautiful and scenic Dharamsala, India has been sweating it out for two days in Lucknow.

They have a keen eye on keeping their winning momentum going in the tournament as well.
