After the completion of the ODI World Cup, India will gear up for the 5-match T20I series against Australia.

Meanwhile, after defeating the Aussies 2-1 in the ODI series, India will look to maintain their winning streak in the T20I games as well.

Moreover, the Men in Blue will also see a new skipper in Suryakumar Yadav who will lead the side for the series in the absence of Hardik Pandya.

Furthermore, the series will start in Vishakhapatnam on 23rd November and end in Hyderabad on 3rd December.

Meanwhile, head coach, Rahul Dravid will get a break and VVS Laxman will be the head coach in his place for this series.

Says a BCCI source,

VVS Laxman has always been in charge when Rahul has taken a break and the same thing is likely to continue for the series just after the World Cup.

Asian Games players to get a place in T20I series; Dravid’s tenure coming to an end after World Cup

Furthermore, players from the gold medal-winning squad of the Asian Games might be roped in for this series.

Additionally, Rahul Dravid’s tenure as head coach is coming to an end after the conclusion of the World Cup.

The likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and Rinku Singh will definitely get a place in the series against Australia.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson who did not feature in the Asia Cup, World Cup, and Asian Games will also get a chance to prove himself against Australia.

Says a senior BCCI official,

There is time. Some of the guys will get a break after the World Cup. And yes, it will be an opportunity for someone like Ruturaj, Yashasvi, or Sanju to do well and cement their place. It’s up to the selectors who they want to see in that team.

Senior players are not going to be a part of the T20I series against Australia

Furthermore, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami will get a good break after India’s 2023 ODI World Cup campaign.

On the other hand, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, and Yuzvendra Chahal will form the spin trio against Australia.
