Former England skipper, Michael Vaughan has given a neat comparison between India batter Virat Kohli and Argentinian footballer, Lionel Messi.

Currently, Kohli is rocking the ODI World Cup 2023 and is making runs in a prolific fashion.

Moreover, in just 5 games, he has amassed a total of 354 runs and has a very high average of 118 which includes three half-centuries and one ton.

According to Vaughan, great players always have a way of leaving their impact in big tournaments and this allows them to leave lasting legacies.

Virat Kohli in the chase, there is no one better. It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets a 49th century before the final, and his 50th in the final. It’s written in the stars.

Adding further, he says,

I actually put it on social media- great, great players always arrive in World Cups. It defines their legacies. Look at the footballers, Lionel Messi had to win the World Cup for Argentina, and he did it. Virat has already won a World Cup but you just feel he is going to drive the Indian team all the way.

Vaughan feels India are strong contenders to win the World Cup for a third time

Furthermore, Vaughan has also stated that India is currently in splendid form in the World Cup and has the ability to win the tournament for the third time.

Therefore, he feels that it will be difficult for any team to dismantle the current batting line-up as they are making strong partnerships and every batter is a run machine.

Additionally, Vaughan recently trolled Pakistan when they lost their game to India.

He stated that maybe not playing Dil Dil Pakistan resulted in the loss of the Men in Green against India.

After their loss to Australia once again, Vaughan didn’t back out and trolled them again.
