I haven’t thought about my future as the Indian Head Coach: Rahul Dravid

The famous Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosted the 2023 ODI World Cup final between the Indian team and the Australian team, who won by a commanding six wickets. What made Australia win was Travis Head’s outstanding century and his vital partnership with Marnus Labuschagne. After the match Indian head coach Dravid highlighted Rohit’s leadership and support for the team during the press conference.

In a press conference after the game, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid said he hasn’t thought about staying on as the team’s head coach in the future. He made it clear that the World Cup and the team’s pursuit of victory had occupied all of his attention.

Dravid praises Rohit’s dedication 

Dravid highlighted Rohit’s leadership and support for the team during the press conference. Praising his commitment to the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign.

I just think he put so much of his time and energy in addressing the boys. He’s always been available for any of our conversations for any of our meetings. Sometimes a lot of planning, a lot of strategy goes in, and he’s always committed to those things. He put a lot of his time and energy into this campaign,” said Dravid

Dravid praised Rohit’s leadership qualities and upbeat attitude towards the game, highlighting his part in establishing the team’s culture. Dravid praised Rohit’s efforts and contributions to the team’s tournament journey despite the team’s loss in the final.

His batting as well has been fantastic. He wanted to play a certain way. Rohit want to play in a positive, attacking brand of cricket .And he has been very committed to that. He wanted to lead by example and he did. I can’t speak more highly of him,” Dravid added.

Australia won the ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad. Despite India’s best efforts to exact revenge for their loss in the 2003 final. Australia confirmed their dominance in international cricket with this victory, securing their sixth ODI World Cup trophy.
