Hardik to be absent more games, three selection dilemmas for Rohit-Dravid: IND vs ENG

Rahul dravid

Hardik Pandya’s absence from more games is causing three selection dilemmas for Rohit-Dravid for the India vs England game. The clash will be on October 29 in Lucknow.

INDIA VS ENGLAND

Given that Hardik Pandya is suffering from an ankle injury and will miss the India vs England clash. Therefore, India must decide whom to choose in his absence. Whether to star Ravichandran Ashwin in Lucknow or stick with SKY and Shami is a dilemma for Rohit and Dravid. The Indian cricket team will play without Hardik Pandya in the second straight game. However, the absence of the all-rounder is causing several selection challenges ahead of Ind vs Eng. The match between India and England is on October 29 Sunday, and Rohit and Dravid have to make three crucial decisions.

Since BCCI hasn’t looked for a replacement, India’s list now consists of 14 players. SKY did play for India vs New Zealand at Dharamshala, although he was not very successful. If the pitch is low and sluggish in Lucknow, the equations may also be altered, which would help the spinners. Surya Kumar Yadav got out, scoring two runs in his World Cup debut. In addition, Ishan Kishan scored 0 and 47 in the first two games in Shubman Gill’s absence.

Nevertheless, SKY has a definite position at No.6 in terms of backing. In addition, SKY and Jadeja are the chosen finishers at NO.7 in Hardik’s absence. Therefore, it seems improbable that the Indian cricket team would bench SKY in favor of Ishan Kishan in India vs England.

However, if the India vs England game happens on a pitch that helps spinners, Ashwin will play in the game. Dropping a seamer will be the only option to make room for Ashwin. But who will Rahul and Dravid drop? After rejoining the team, Shami took a five-wicket haul against NZ. Apart from him, Siraj is the second seamer who has taken six wickets alongside Bumrah.
