Ravichandran Ashwin will probably make his comeback in the World Cup for India in IND vs Eng. India will face England on October 29 in Lucknow.
RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN COMEBACK
Ravichandran Ashwin will play in the cricket World Cup again in 2023. After a two-day break, the India cricket team arrived in Lucknow. A few more ODI World Cup games will not include Hardik Pandya. Additionally, India may choose Ravichandran Ashwin over Mohammed Shami or Mohammed Siraj since the Lucknow pitch is expected to suit spinners.
However, Rohit Sharma will have a big decision to make over who to bench for India vs England on Sunday. Unfortunately, Hardik Pandya had the previous game due to his ankle injury. In his absence, Mohammed Shami and Suryakumar Yadav had to fill in for him during India’s game against New Zealand. Moreover, Shami has made it hard for the team management to bench him with a fifer against the Kiwis.
While Jasprit Bumrah is definite, the pitch will determine whether India plays three seamers or three spinners. If the pitch is a touch slow, India will bring Ashwin back. However, if Ravichandran Ashwin walks in, who goes out? Ashwin will replace Shardul Thakur if the surface is spin-friendly. Regardless, it’s suddenly harder now that Mohammed Shami has a fifer. If India requires three spinners, Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma will have to choose who to bench.
Currently, Mohammed Siraj is the best bowler in the world for ODI internationals. He took five wickets against New Zealand. This choice won’t be easy to make. Despite being an excellent red-ball batter, Ravichandran Ashwin hasn’t shown to be a dependable white-ball batsman. Thus, to play all three seamers, India can only bat up to No.6. While playing the first game against Australia, Ashwin took three wickets(3/28) in 10 overs.
