Former India spinner, Harbhajan Singh has expressed his disappointment after Yuzvendra Chahal’s snub from the Asia Cup.

According to Bhajji, there is no spinner like Chahal in the current team setup and the selectors should’ve picked him for the tournament.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja have made it to the squad and will be the three spin options for India.

Moreover, Bhajji has stated that Chahal is still an exceptional bowler and a few poor performances do not make him a bad bowler.

Apparently, Chahal has been in and out of the team quite often in the last couple of years.

Additionally, he was selected in last year’s T20 World Cup but was not selected in a single game.

Says Bhajji on his YouTube channel,

The one thing I feel is lacking in the team is the absence of Yuzvendra Chahal. A leg-spinner who can get the ball to turn away. If you talk about genuine spinner, I don’t think there’s any spinner in India better than Chahal in white-ball formats. Yes, his last few games weren’t good, but that doesn’t make him a bad bowler.

Harbhajan says the selectors should consider Chahal for ODI World Cup

Meanwhile, Harbhajan has also said that the selectors should pick Chahal for the upcoming ODI World Cup as it is going to be held in India.

He also feels that a player who has been constantly dropped from the team can play a pivotal role in the marquee event.

I think his presence in the team was necessary. I hope the doors aren’t closed on him. It’s important to consider him for the World Cup because the tournament is in India. Chahal is a proven match-winner. I can understand his form isn’t good, so you may have rested him. But I think if he was with the team, his confidence would’ve stayed intact. Any player who comes back after being dropped, the pressure to perform is always there.
