India’s middle-order batter, Shreyas Iyer has proved his mettle by scoring 199 runs in a practice game at NCA.

Recently, Shreyas was included in the 17-man squad for the Asia Cup which is his comeback tournament.

When he was declared fit by the NCA in Bengaluru, everyone from the BCCI to the fans breathed a sigh of relief.

On the other hand, India will kick off their campaign against Pakistan on the 2nd of September at Kandy.

Meanwhile, the NCA hosted a practice game on the 18th of August in which Iyer batted for 38 overs and fielded for a full quota of 50 overs.

A source from the BCCI has stated that Iyer looked in peak fitness during the whole game.

He smashed the bowlers at the National Cricket Academy, scoring 199 in a practice tie. To provide the selectors more evidence of his fitness, he then fielded for the entire 50 overs of the match, which was held at the Just Cricket Academy in Bangalore 3/4 days back.

Furthermore, Ajit Agarkar also talked about Iyer’s fitness during the announcement of the squad for the Asia Cup.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul is also making a comeback in the continental tournament with a small niggle.

However, he will be participating only in the capacity of a keeper-batter in the tournament.
