As the ICC ODI World Cup draws closer by the day, the BCCI is working towards their final preparations.

Moreover, as per the latest reports, Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will host the opening ceremony of the marquee event.

Additionally, this event is planned for the 4th of October with the main event starting on the 5th.

More reports from the BCCI state that the cricket board will invite members of the ICC and several cricketing councils for the ceremony.

Meanwhile, all ten skippers will also be attending the ceremony and will be briefed about the same by the ICC.

Also, many popular names from the cultural field are going to perform in this ceremony.

Almost 12 years ago, Bangladesh hosted a very spectacular opening ceremony of an ICC event in which the captains were transported to the stadium on rickshaws.

BCCI is also thinking of doing something in this vein but will add some Indian flavor and charm to it.

But, the BCCI has not finalized anything and is keeping everything under wraps for now.

BCCI planning on making the opening ceremony a long one

Moreover, the BCCI is planning to make the opening ceremony very special and a long one as well.

Several stars such as Arijit Singh, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tamannaah Bhatia have already performed in this year’s IPL’s opening ceremony.

However, the plan of the BCCI is to add even more stars to the ceremony so that its run time becomes longer.

Before the opening ceremony, India, Pakistan, Australia, Netherlands, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka have their warm-up games.

So, Rohit Sharma, Pat Cummins, and Babar Azam will arrive in Ahmedabad on the morning of the 4th of October.

When the ceremony ends, Babar and Netherlands skipper, Scott Edwards will catch an early flight as they will be playing against each other on the 6th of October at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
