As the subcontinent teams are preparing themselves for the upcoming Asia Cup, so are the predictions coming in full force.

All the players and cricket experts are trying to pick their favorite teams for the tournament.

Recently, star India Women’s cricketer, Shafali Verma also shared her opinions on the tournament and clearly stated that India will win the tournament.

So far, with the return of the players who were injured for a long time has fuelled India massively.

That’s why the Men in Blue are looking strong contenders to win the Asia Cup this time around.

Furthermore, if India wins the Asia Cup, it will give them some major confidence going into the ODI World Cup.

Says Verma,

The team looks very strong. All those who were missing owing to injuries are making a comeback. So, I think Team India has become very strong. So, I think they will win.

Verma decides to keep quiet on Harmanpreet Kaur; wishes Team India luck for Asia Cup

But, when Verma was asked about her India Women’s team skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur’s latest controversy, the opener decided to remain quiet on the issue.

She stated that she cannot speak up for her skipper at the moment and everyone in the team is focused on working hard and winning games for the country.

I can’t say about Harmanpreet Kaur….but as a team, we are always just thinking of doing well for the Indian team, for our country. Sometimes we will go up or down. But we can work hard anytime, so we just believe in working hard. That is what we are thinking.

A few months ago, Harmanpreet Kaur was involved in a nasty controversy during India Women’s tour of Bangladesh.

She misbehaved with the umpires after she was dismissed during the Dhaka ODI for which she was given a massive fine.

Additionally, she was also slapped with four demerit points along with a match fee fine.
