Sanjay Bangar says Rohit Sharma’s USP is that he’s backed players who were injured and low on confidence. India’s last match of the tournament league matches is with Netherlands.

SANJAY BANGAR ON ROHIT SHARMA

With their decisive 243-run victory against South Africa, team India increased their winning run. India has eight wins in a row after defeating SA. In addition, as the league’s best team, this victory guaranteed India’s way to the semi-finals. Ex-Indian cricket player and star cast member Sanjay Bangar gave an exclusive interview before IND vs NED. Bangar spoke on the Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s USP. Regarding Rohit Sharma’s USP as a skipper, Sanjay Bangar exclusively spoke to the Star Sports programme “Follow the Blues.” He said,

“I believe his USP is that he’s backed the players who were injured and low on confidence. Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah these 3 players were making comebacks after injury, and they were given the confidence that they were a part of this team, and that the team believes in their abilities, and that they would get opportunities. When any captain says this, it’s above everything for a player. Another captain who did something similar is Saurav Ganguly, when he identified Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra. So, this is one fantastic contribution by Rohit Sharma as a captain.”

On November 12, team India will play against the Netherlands in Bengaluru. The match against NED will be India’s last league match of the World Cup 2023. Following that, India will face the team ranked fourth in the points standings in the semi-final. India would make sure they keep their rhythm throughout the elimination rounds. Breaking India’s ten-year drought in the ICC trophy, India would be eager to put forth their best effort.
