RCB women’s team to have a new head coach for Women’s Premier League 2024. Royal Challengers Banglore(RCB) announced Luke Williams’s appointment for the role of head coach on September 30th. Luke Williams will replace Ben Sawyer.

RCB APPOINTS LUKE WILLIAMS AS HEAD COACH FOR WPL 2024

RCB will part ways with Ben Sawyer, who coached the Smriti Mandhana and company last year. The women’s team didn’t have a remembering season in the 1st edition of the Wpl. Despite prominent names like Smriti Mandhana, the skipper, Ellyse Perry, and Sophie Devine, they finished fourth in the points table. The Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise, on Saturday, September 30th, declared the appointment of Australian-origin Luke Williams as their head coach. Luke Williams on his appointment as head coach, expressed:

 “I am thrilled to have been provided this opportunity with RCB and can’t wait to get started with the team’s preparations for the second season of the WPL. I look forward to working with a playing group that will host a number of the most exciting players in Indian and world cricket as we look to bring a bold and exciting style of play and success to our huge and passionate fan base”

Prathmesh Mishra, Chief Commercial Officer, Diageo India, and Chairman of RCB, stated

“We are grateful to Ben Sawyer for bringing together a team for the inaugural Women’s Premier League. Sawyer leaves behind a team that showed hunger to do better. I wish him luck for his future endeavours and welcome Luke Williams to take over reigns and guide RCB women’s team to reach to its optimum potential”
