Babar Azam says “It’ll be even better if we have our fans come as well”

Pakistan’s Skipper, Babar Azam, wishes for the presence of Pakistani spectators to support the team in the World Cup 2023. The ODI World Cup 2023 began on October 5, with England and New Zealand facing each other.

Babar Azam and company landed on Indian soil on September 29 in the city of Pearls Hyderabad. Hyderabad airport had a large crowd cheering for the Pakistan cricket team. Reacting to this, Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam expressed his excitement at the hospitable welcome in India after a pause of seven years. In addition, Babar also conveyed the kind welcome the team had received at the airport and on the way to the hotel. At last, Babar also desired the presence of Pakistani fans to support the nation in the World Cup.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam was quoted by Cricbuzz saying,

“To be honest, we also heard that. But since the time we arrived in Hyderabad, the kind of hospitality we’ve received and the kind of welcome we had from the airport to the hotel…even in the last match at the ground we felt very good. It’ll be even better if we have our fans come as well. And hopefully, we get that kind of support in every match and at every ground, so looking forward that”

Amidst the World Cup fever, the Pakistan cricket team were having dinner at the ‘Jewel of Nizam’ diner. The Jewel of Nizam is famous for its authentic Hyderabadi cuisine. Moreover, In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB), Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi were admiring the artwork representing the VII Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, within the rich ambiance of the ‘Jewel of Nizam.’
