Adam Zampa makes a playful jab at Michael Clarke after the World Cup 2023 win. Australia clinched their sixth trophy in the ODI World Cup tournament.

ADAM ZAMPA WITTY REPLY TO MICHAEL CLARKE

Following the victory in the 2023 World Cup, Australian leg spinner Adam Zampa responded to the ex-captain. Michael Clarke, the former captain of the team, criticized the team. Previously, the Australian coach voiced worries about his team’s performance. In the opening of the contest, Australia lost their opening two games. Their initial two defeat were against India and South Africa. Speaking at a time when Australia appeared to be suffering, Clarke issued a warning. Michael Clarke said that the public discourse on cricket may soon reflect the negative conversations surrounding the Wallabies, Australia’s rugby side. Emphasising the need for change right way, Michael Clarke said,

“If we are not careful, the conversation we have been having about the Wallabies the last three weeks we will be having about the Australian cricket team in two weeks’ time”

However, as the competition went on, the Australian cricket team was back in shape. Following this, Australia won the sixth World Cup, beating India in a low-scoring finale. The triumph served as evidence of the team’s resiliency and captaincy to overcome early losses. Following this victory, Adam Zampa used humor to mock Clarke on social media. Making lighthearted references to Clarke’s earlier comments, Adam Zampa said,

“If we are getting shown up like that against South Africa, the spin in the subcontinent teams, we will be laughable. If we are not careful, the conversation we have been having about the Wallabies the last 3 weeks, we will be having about the Australian cricket team in two weeks’ time. We should have turned up to India in our prime.”
