The mega cricketing event of this year, the ICC ODI World Cup is now just 2 days away.

All the fans are highly excited about this tournament, especially in India, because they want their third cup this year.

Already everyone knows that there is going to be a huge opening ceremony for the tournament as well.

However, according to the latest reports, it is said that there might not be any opening ceremony at all.

Furthermore, the first game of the tournament will be between last year’s finalists, England and New Zealand at Ahmedabad.

Also, the BCCI has planned to call on various Bollywood celebrities and singers for the prestigious ceremony.

The star-studded lineup includes Ranveer Singh, Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shreya Ghoshal, and Asha Bhosle.

Moreover, there was to be a fireworks show as well as a laser show that would have sparked interest.

But, the other news is that there is no official announcement from the board regarding the cancellation of the ceremony and the Captains’ Day is also going ahead as planned.

For the Captains’ Day, India skipper, Rohit Sharma and the other 9 skippers will be in full attendance in Ahmedabad.

Additionally, India will begin their campaign on the 8th of October against Australia at Chennai. The latter have won the cup 5 times and will look to win their 6th title.

India-Pakistan clash is going to be a high-octane one for fans

However, the clash that is going to grab the most eyeballs in the tournament is the one between arch-rivals, India and Pakistan.

Scheduled for the 14th of October, both sides will take on each other at Narendra Modi Stadium once again.

Looking at their recent records, India had a superb Asia Cup campaign where they won their 8th title after defeating Sri Lanka in the finals.

Moreover, they defeated Australia 2-1 in the 3-match ODI series and are in a good position to win the World Cup.

Talking about Pakistan, they had a very poor performance in the Asia Cup and there are also rumors of strife between senior players.

Now, with the injury to pacer Naseem Shah, it will be interesting to see how they fare in the tournament.
