ROHIT SHARMA RETURNS FROM VACATION

On Monday, Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, arrived back in Mumbai with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira. When the Indian skipper arrived at the Mumbai airport, he was seen there with his family. Notably, Rohit and other top players took a sabbatical following India’s devastating loss in the World Cup. The skipper and the senior players involved in the World Cup did not play in the five-match T20Is between India and Australia.

Following India’s loss in the World Cup final, the Indian skipper avoided the spotlight. However, he recently posted a photo on his Instagram story from a trip with his spouse. Rohit Sharma delivered a standout performance from his bat in the 2023 World Cup. With 597 runs, he finished the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer on the squad. He led the Indian team from the front. Moreover, during the 11-match campaign, the skipper shattered several records. He broke several records, including most hundreds in the ODI World Cup held by Sachin Tendulkar.

Furthermore, Rohit Sharma will be absent from the upcoming T20 and ODI series against South Africa. The series will begin on December 10. Moreover, there has been a debate around Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s participation in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Former Indian cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar offered his opinion on the controversy.

“Virat Kohli will have to show that he is a better option than the youngsters who are playing currently, and Rohit Sharma as T20 batter and captain vs Hardik Pandya, the T20 batter, all-rounder and captain. This should be the competition and you should only go with merit there because we have seen what we have got with great players, stature and experience.”
