Australia’s former captain Ricky Ponting believes Rohit Sharma’s laid-back temperament is helping him handle pressure in the World Cup 2023. Indian cricket team has been undefeatable in three consecutive games so far.

Australia’s former notable skipper Ricky Ponting heaped praises on Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Ricky Ponting feels Rohit Sharma is very laid back in everything he does. In addition, he said that Rohit Sharma’s relaxed personality is reflected in the way he plays cricket. Further, Ricky Ponting also feels that India’s skipper is a calm batsman and maintains the same attitude both on and off the field. Ponting was quoted by India Today saying,
“He’s very laid back, Rohit. Very laid back with everything he does. You can even see that by the way that he plays. He’s a pretty laconic sort of batsman as well, and that’s the way he is both on and off the field”
Rohit Sharma, so far, is fourth on the list of players’ stats for the most runs. He has a total of 217 runs in three innings with an average of 72.33. In addition, the captain has one century and a half-century to his name. While he smashed 131 runs off 84 balls against Afghanistan, against Pakistan, he added 86 runs off 63 deliveries.

Talking about Virat Kohli, Ricky Ponting concluded,
“Someone like Virat, who is a bit more heart-on-the-sleeve, and probably listens to the fans and plays up with the fans a little bit more, someone with his personality would probably find it a bit harder. But I think Rohit will be fine with it. He’s a terrific bloke and has been a great player for a long time, and he’s done a great job as leader of India”
