The ten Indian Premier League (IPL) teams have until November 26 to turn in their final roster of players they have retained and released in advance of the December 19 IPL 2024 auction in Dubai.

There were some unexpected releases. And fans were curious about which players the five-time champion MI had made available. Jofra Archer was release. MI had invested in IPL 2022 even though they knew he wouldn’t be available, and he only appeared in a few games in IPL 2023. In addition to him, well-known players like Chris Jordan, Riley Meredith, Jhye Richardson, and Tristan Stubbs were still there.

In a stunning turn of events, MI acquired Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans in an all-cash deal after trading Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore. But at the IPL 2024 auction, the players that the Mumbai Indians released might fetch a very high price.

Here are 3 players released by MI who could be in high demand in IPL 2024 auction:

Duan Jansen

Duan Jansen is the identical twin of South African all-rounder Marco Jansen. He bats well and is a tall left-hand pacer. Having participated in 32 T20s, 24 List-A matches, and 22 First-Class matches, he has a wealth of domestic cricketing experience. He has amassed 98 wickets in total. He has amassed 266 runs at a strike average of 150.28 in T20 cricket.

As one of the top bowlers in the 6ixty tournament and the 2022 CPL for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Jansen contributed to his team’s victory. He was selected by the MI for the Indian Premier League. But he only get to play one match, returning 1/53 figures.

Tristan Stubbs:

Stubbs has amassed 1105 runs at a strike rate of 147.72 in 58 T20 matches. In addition to bowling off-break, he can hold wickets. In the IPL 2022, the MI acquired the young player to take Tymal Mills’ injured spot. He participated in four IPL games and scored 27 runs. Stubbs should command a high price in the IPL 2024 auction given his prolific batting and versatility.

Jofra archer:

Even though the MI knew Jofra Archer wasn’t fit, they still paid INR 8 crore to acquire him in the IPL 2022 auction. In the IPL 2023, they hoped he would be healthy enough to partner with Jasprit Bumrah in a lethal bowling tandem. But before Archer’s elbow problem returned, he was only able to participate in five games and take two wickets.
