We deep down to the privileges a golden ticket holder will get during the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. The ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to commence from 5th October. Ahead of the quadrennial event, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is presenting golden tickets to eminent personalities of the country. This is the attempt to make their World Cup watching experience a memorable one.

So far, the secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah, has presented the golden tickets to legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth. Apart from the dynamic duo from the movie industry. The former India cricketer and World Cup 2011 winner, Sachin Tendulkar has been also given the golden ticket.

The perks of holding a golden ticket

The golden ticket is being presented to the national icons under ‘Golden Ticket for Golden Icons’ programme. The ticket will reportedly give access to its holders to all 48 matches of the tournament from ground zero. The accreditation card and the ticket mentions that the person is BCCI’s guest and hence will get a VIP treatment at the stadium.

However, the BCCI has been facing a lot of flak from the fans due to the late announcement of the schedule for the World Cup. The ticket booking experience also hasn’t been a memorable one for the fans as they’ve found several glitches on the booking site. Fans have had to wait for hours in the virtual queue. This golden ticket concept, is done by BCCI in order to highlight the contribution of prominent figures.

Earlier, on Wednesday, September 20, the ICC (International Cricket Council) unveiled the official anthem of the World Cup 2023. The anthem ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ featuring actor Ranveer Singh, and several other popular figures. The energetic song celebrates the euphoria of the World Cup in India calling it a festival for the fans.

Now, with the mega-event just few days away, the excitement among the fans is huge. Team India will commence their World Cup campaign on 5th October in Chennai, against Australia.
