India’s star batter Virat Kohli was spotted visiting the Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram in Dharamsala ahead of India’s upcoming match in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in Lucknow. Before the World Cup clash against England, Team India has opted to spend a few days off in Dharamsala.

Instead of sticking to the traditional post-game travel routine. The Men in Blue have decided to stay put in Dharamsala for two days following the match.

This is not the first time Virat Kohli has been seen visiting holy places. In the recent past, he has been consistently visiting religious places. Kohli’s visit to the ashram quickly became a social media sensation.

Virat Kohli and Team uses the break to rejuvenate

Virat Kohli and Team India after playing back-to-back fives games, needed this break to re-focus on the next phase of the tournament. After their emphatic win against Kiwis, India look to continue their winning run against defending champions England.

Virat Kohli has been in sensational form during the 2023 World Cup. He currently holds the record for the highest run-scorer in the World Cup, accumulating 354 runs in five games. Moreover, he achieved a century against Bangladesh, highlighting his exceptional performances.

However, not all the players stayed back in Dharamsala. Players like skipper Rohit Sharma, Kl Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah went back to spend time with their families. Since the Asia Cup, team is playing continuous cricket. Hence, BCCI decided to give team India the much-needed break before the business end of the World Cup.

With 5 out of 5 wins so far, Virat Kohli and team India will look to make a 6 consecutive wins against England in Lucknow. Although, with Hardik Pandya ruled out of the contest, it will be interesting to see the playing XI. Historically, Lucknow has favoured the spinners which may tend India to play a third spinner in the form of R. Ashwin.
