Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh isn’t pleased with Yuzi Chahal been dropped from the World Cup squad. Since, the announcement of Indian’s ODI World Cup 2023 squad, the omission of Yuzi Chahal is talk of the town.

Chahal, who has been an integral player for team India in white-ball format in recent times. Doesn’t find a place in the 15-men World Cup squad. Speaking on the same, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh took centre-stage and talked of Yuzvendra Chahal’s omission from the squad.

Speaking on this Harbhajan Singh says,

Yuzvendra Chahal should have been here. He has not been given an opportunity. It is beyond my understanding. Either he has fought with someone or he has said something to someone, I don’t know. If we talk only about skill, his name should have been there in this team because a lot of Team India players are resting,”

Harbhajan Singh thinks World Cup will be a tougher challenge than Asia Cup

Furthermore, Harbhajan Singh also talked of the upcoming three-match ODI series between India and Australia. Harbhajan opined that Australia took on South Africa, whereas India will come into the series after bagging the Asia Cup. Harbhajan suggested that Team India should be especially wary of Australia’s batting lineup as they have many skilled batters.

The 43-year old adds on,

Australia were playing against South Africa, and India were playing against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. Australia is a different team. You will have to be at your best to beat Australia because they have decent batting until No. 7 or No. 8 and they have solid hitters,”

Notably, India will commence their World Cup campaign against Australia on 5th October in Chennai. And will face arch-rivals Pakistan on 14th October in Ahmedabad.
