Pat Cummins and Stoinis applaud Adam Zampa for his performance in the Australia vs Pakistan match of World Cup 2023. Spinner Adam Zampa was in bed for the last two weeks being ill.

Australia’s captain Pat Cummins and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis were all praises for Adam Zampa’s performance in the Australia vs Pakistan match. Despite being ill and bedridden for two weeks due to illness, Zampa took four crucial wickets against Pakistan. His performance was crucial in Australia’s renewal after two initial World Cup losses. Pat Cummins told Star Sports at the post-match presentation that,

“Yeah, Lazarus [Adam Zampa] has been awesome. He’s been in the bed for the last week or two. He was fantastic, and he just showed his class. He’s a real wicket-taker in the middle. Babar Azam and Iftikhar at the end when he was going – two big wickets”

Furthermore, Australia’s leg-spinner, Adam Zampa was praised by his teammate and close friend, Marcus Stoinis. Stoinis praised Zampa’s performance in the Australia vs Pakistan game and said he is very happy for him. In addition, Stoinis shed light on Zampa’s compromised health. Marcus Stoinis said that,

“I’m very happy for Lazarus (laughs). He’s had a flu, he’s had a sore back, he’s had a bad neck and he’s had a bad glute. “But he’s been bowling really well. This game was the best he has bowled, I reckon. So, he will rest up today and come strong tomorrow”

The Australia vs Pakistan match was the first game at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on October 20. The high-scoring venue had both the teams jointly register 672 runs. Batting first, the Australian openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh recorded the highest opening partnership(259) for Australia in ODI World Cup history.
