Recently, Ashutosh Sharma of the Railways has broken former India cricketer, Yuvraj Singh’s fastest 50 record.

In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Sharma smashed 50 runs in just 11 balls against Arunachal Pradesh at Ranchi in a Group C clash.

With the score at 131 for 4 and five overs remaining, Sharma came to the batting crease and started his massive hitting.

He smashed 53 from 12 balls including one four and eight maximums that helped him break the record.

Meanwhile, his strike rate read 441.66 which is quite high and impressive at the same time.

All of his sixes flew to different parts of the park and that allowed him to race to his fifty in just 12 balls.

Additionally, Railways finished at 246 for 5 and scored 115 runs in their last five overs.

Ashutosh Sharma made his domestic debut in 2018 for Madhya Pradesh

Talking about Sharma’s career, he has played 10th overall and only the second T20 game for Railways.

Meanwhile, he made his T20 debut for Madhya Pradesh during the 2017-18 Zonal T20 League and last played in the tournament in 2019.

Moreover, he has played only one 50-over game and will look to gain more experience in the format over time.

It was again for Madhya Pradesh in 2019 and he is still to make his debut in the first-class format.

Furthermore, Yuvraj Singh’s fastest 50 record remained unbroken for the last 16 years before being broken by Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee in last month’s Asian Games.

Yuvraj’s 50 came against England during the inaugural ICC T20 Men’s World Cup in 2007.

Meanwhile, this fifty is a special one because Yuvraj hit six sixes against Stuart Broad.

Before that, Yuvraj was also involved in a small spat with Andrew Flintoff that didn’t go down well for England.
