Until the IPL 2024 season begins, here is Team India’s post-World Cup schedule.

Team India is preparing for a busy schedule in the months ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, following an intense campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

After the World Cup, Team India, led by captain Suryakumar Kumar, will also play Australia in a five-match Twenty20 International series beginning on Thursday, November 23.

The Indian team will then travel to South Africa in December to play three Twenty20 Internationals, three One-Day Internationals, and a two-match Test series against the Proteas. India will play a five-match Test series against England starting in the last week of January, after opening the new year with a three-match Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan.

Here’s a glimpse of Team India s post-World Cup itinerary until IPL 2024 begins:

India vs Australia 2023 T20I series

  • 1st T20I: November 23, Visakhapatnam

India tour of South Africa 2023-24

  • 1st ODI: December 17, Johannesburg
  • 2nd ODI: December 19, Gqeberha
  • 3rd ODI: December 21, Paarl
  • 1st Test: Dec 26 – Dec 30, Centurion
  • 2nd Test, Jan 3 – Jan 7, Cape Town

India vs Afghanistan 2024 T20I series

  • 1st T20I: January 11, Mohali
  • 2nd T20I: January 14, Indore

India vs England 2024 Tests series

  • 1st Test: Jan 25-29, Hyderabad
  • 2nd Test: Feb 2-6, Visakhapatnam
  • 3rd Test: Feb 15-19, Rajkot
  • 4th Test: Feb 23-27, Ranchi
  • 5th Test: Mar 7-11, Dharamsala

However India won the first Twenty20 international match against Australia in Visakhapatnam. With a thrilling last-ball victory led by stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 80 runs from 42 balls.

After India lost three wickets in the last over, lower-order batsman Rinku Singh remained composed to hit the winning runs with the final ball.

Four days after Australia’s six-wicket victory in the Cricket World Cup final, the teams squared off, with a few players from the Ahmedabad match fielded.

On his captaincy debut, Suryakumar hit nine fours and four sixes. He also established a 112-run partnership with Ishan Kishan, who struck a crucial 39-ball 58 after the hosts lost their openers on 22.
