Shubman Gill breaks Hasim Amla’s record of most runs after the first 35 innings in ODI cricket. In the 2nd ODI against Australia, Gill achieved this benchmark.


Shubman Gill surpassed Hasim Amla in scoring the most runs in an ODI after 35 innings during the ongoing match against Australia in Holkar Stadium in Indore. Gill’s total runs in the first 35 innings is 1917 runs. Before Gill, Hasim Amla had the record for most runs in 35 innings in an ODI. Hasim Amla scored 1844 runs in 35 innings.

Moreover, Shubman registered his sixth century in an ODI cricket in the 2nd ODI against Australia. Shubman Gill reached his 6th hundred off 92 deliveries. Gill sliced 104 runs from 97 balls, which includes ten boundaries, six fours, and four maximums. In addition, Shubman broke Shikhar Dhawan’s to reach the milestone of six centuries in 35 innings. Shikhar Dhawan reached his sixth century in 42 innings. Moreover, Shubman is the fifth fastest cricketer to reach the mark of six ODI hundreds in world cricket. Quinton de Kock and Shubman Gill are tied for the fifth position.

The top five Indian players fastest to score six centuries after Gill and Shikhar Dhawan include KL Rahul(53 innings), Virat Kohli(61 innings), and Gautam Gambhir(68 innings). In world cricket, the top five fastest cricketers to reach the milestone of six centuries include Iman-ul-Haq(27), Upul Tharanga(29), Babar Azam(32), Hasim Amla(34), Shubman Gill(35), and Quinton de Kock(35).

In 2023 Gill also surpassed Rohit Sharma to hit most number of sixes in ODIs. Moreover, Gill is on the brink of being at the No. 1 spot in Men’s ODI batting rankings. He has a total of 847 rating points, being second in the rankings. Babar Azam, is at the top with 857 rating points.
