Jadeja recalls India’s victory at the 2011 World Cup


Everyone’s memories of Team India’s 2011 ODI World Cup are still recent. There were several memorable moments from team India’s historic ODI World Cup run, including MS Dhoni’s game-winning six and Yuvraj Singh’s all-around efforts.

Ravindra Jadeja, a star Indian all-rounder, mentioned watching the World Cup final with his Chennai Super Kings teammates in a similar vein. Jadeja expressed his opinion and commented on how anxious he felt throughout the run chase, saying that the memories from the game are still very fresh in his memory.

We had a practice session for IPL but it was cancelled as India were playing the World Cup final. All the teammates were sitting in the same room to watch the final. We were all slightly nervous after India lost some early wickets,” Ravindra Jadeja told Star Sports. 

But MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir turned the match around for us. I still remember everything from that night. It was a very special moment for Indian cricket. There are a lot of expectations from the fans to win the World Cup, especially if it is happening in India. We all are egarly waiting for the final moment” he added.

Jadeja also discussed the impending ODI World Cup in 2023. The major event, which will be entirely host by India, is going to start on October 5. Speaking on the subject, Jadeja believed that them benefiting greatly from India hosting the proceedings.

The World Cup takes place every four years, and this one is more special as it’s being played in India. As players, we know the conditions in India. It’s surely a big advantage for us. Winning the 2023 World Cup will bring back the memories of 2011 World Cup for the fans,” Ravindra Jadeja said it on a interview.
