Former India spinner, Pragyan Ojha has decided to step down from his position at the IPL Governing Council after a span of three years.

Meanwhile, a decision to hold fresh elections is also doing the rounds wherein a new member will be appointed in place of Ojha.

Additionally, along with alterations in the Governing Council of the IPL, the BCCI might also discuss forming a Governing Council for the Women’s Premier League.

Ojha was in a Players’ Representative Role during his tenure at the IPL’s Governing Council.

Meanwhile, the third item on the AGM’s agenda states,

Induction of 1 (one) representative of the Indian Cricketers’ Association in the Governing Council of the IPL.

Furthermore, according to reports, Ojha is voluntarily leaving his position and the ICA is now going to conduct fresh elections to choose a new member.

The next item in the AGM states,

Election and induction of 2 (two) representatives of the General Body in the Governing Council of the IPL.

Two members to remain same after Ojha’s step down; Agarkar to continue as Chairman of Selection Committee

Arun Singh Dhumal of HPCA and Avishek Dalmiya of CAB are going to continue their respective roles.

Moreover, the topics of the election of an Ombudsman and an Ethics Officer are also on the list.

However, the main issue that the BCCI is thinking of discussing is the work of the men’s selection committee.

Apparently, there are talks that the committee will be reconstituted in December with just a few changes.

The decision to do so is going to be taken during the general body meeting of the BCCI.

Till then, Ajit Agarkar will continue to serve as Chairman of the men’s selection committee.
