Pragyan Ojha expected to leave the IPL Governing Council

Former India cricketer Pragyan Ojha will be stepping down from the players’ representative role in the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Along with the alteration to the Governing Council of the IPL. BCCI might also make decisions regarding the formation of a Governing Council for the Women’s Premier League (WPL).  

The former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha has served the Governing Council for three years. Moreover, the AGM points to this matter indirectly. The third item on the AGM agenda states. Includes “Induction of 1 (one) representative of the Indian Cricketers’ Association in the Governing Council of the IPL.”

Pragyan Ojha is set to  leave his position voluntarily . Furthermore, ICA will conduct a fresh election to nominate a new representative to the council. The agenda for the meeting also includes the item which states. “Election and induction of 2 (two) representatives of the General Body in the Governing Council of the IPL.” 

However, apart from Pragyan Ojha ,the current members Arun Singh Dhumal from the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA). Along with Avishek Dalmiya from the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), expected to continue their roles in the Governing Council. 

The nomination of the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer is also on the agenda. But the assessment of the men’s selection committee may be the most important matter to be discussed during the meeting. In addition, Ajit Agarkar will continue to serve as chairman of the council.
