PM Modi lays foundation stone of Lord Shiva-themed stadium in Varanasi

Today, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of a Lord Shiva-themed stadium in Varanasi.

The land on which the stadium is going to be erected costs 121 crores.

Meanwhile, the building cost for the stadium is estimated to be around 330 crores.

The project will finish by December 2025 and the fans can expect a lot of matches to take place in Kashi.

This is going to be Uttar Pradesh’s third stadium after Kanpur and Lucknow.

Additionally, the stadium is going to have a seating capacity of 30,000.

The other features include crescent-shaped roof covers, floodlights in the shape of a trident, and structures that will resemble those of bel leaves and a damru.

The stadium is going to capture the essence of Kashi in its entirety.

Therefore, this is another good addition to India’s list of stadiums and fans cannot wait to experience the new stadium.

Apart from laying the foundation stone, PM Modi also addressed the women supporters in the city.

He also talked about the Women’s Reservation Bill recently passed in Parliament.

BCCI President, Roger Binny, Vice President, Rajeev Shukla, and Secretary, Jay Shah attended PM Modi’s event.

Furthermore, PM Modi arrived in Varanasi by flight at 1:30 p.m. to lay the foundation stone for the upcoming stadium.

Moreover, UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath took to his social media account and wrote that this is going to be a golden chapter in the history of Varanasi.

Meanwhile, CM Yogi has also tweeted that Kashi’s MP will inaugurate 16 newly constructed Atal Residential Schools during the closing and prize distribution ceremony of Cultural Mahotsav 2023.

This event will cost around 1,115 crores and the UP government is working towards it to making it a success.
