Sri Lanka batter, Pathum Nissanka in his post-match press conference regretted his team’s loss to Australia in yesterday’s game.

He feels that even though they got a good start to their innings, they fell short very badly.

Meanwhile, in yesterday’s game between Sri Lanka and Australia, the Lankan Lions could come up with only 209 runs.

Additionally, all of Sri Lanka’s 10 wickets fell for a paltry 84 runs in under 21.5 overs.

Moreover, Nissanka who played a fierce knock of 61 from 67 balls felt quite remorseful after his team’s third loss.

He feels that had they batted well, they could have easily posted a 300-plus target on the board.

Despite our promising start, we deeply regret not being able to sustain it, resulting in us being limited to a score of 210 runs. I’m hopeful that I can contribute significantly by scoring a substantial number of runs and playing substantial innings in the upcoming matches.

On the other hand, the Aussies enjoyed themselves in the second innings and made easy of the run chase.

The pair of Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh got things going in great fashion for their side, notching up fifties in the process.

Moreover, Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up four wickets and it gave Australia their first victory of the tournament.

Previously, they lost to host India and then South Africa in their consecutive games.

Meanwhile, this win has given the Aussies a lot of hope and has also improved their net run rate quite significantly.
