When questioned about India’s recent performances after arriving in Delhi, Kirmani said to reporters, “India will win the World Cup; they have played very well.“
South Africa and India advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament after playing outstanding cricket. All of their efforts would be for naught if they were to suffer even one loss in the final four. Rhodes expressed his happiness about the team and individual performances that have made the entire tournament fantastic, as well as his prediction that things will get harder moving forward.
“It has been a great tournament. Very well hosted by India. Some of the cricket, whether it is from the team or an individual, has been amazing. From here, it only gets tougher because the stakes go up,” Rhodes told mediapersons.
Australia claimed the third position, followed by South Africa and India. Teams from New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are still vying for the fourth position.
South Africa will play Afghanistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, while India will play their final group stage match against the Netherlands on Sunday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Australia will play their final group-stage game against Bangladesh on Saturday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
