New Zealand cricket team visits Dalai Lama at his residence

Players of the New Zealand cricket team decided to pay a visit to Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama at his residence in McLeod Ganj.

Meanwhile, the Kiwis are gearing up to face the Aussies in their next game at Dharamsala on Saturday.

Moreover, His Holiness, Dalai Lama also shared a picture on his social media of meeting New Zealand players.

Furthermore, New Zealand has already enjoyed its experience of Dharamsala as they faced hosts India but couldn’t win the game due to Kohli’s masterful chase.

Additionally, Mohammed Shami who played his first game of the tournament, claimed his second fifer in ODI World Cup.

India defeated the Kiwis by four wickets to go to the top of the points table and also ended their 20-year losing streak against the latter.

India make easy work of New Zealand at Dharamsala; maintain their unbeaten streak

Talking about the game, India won the toss and opted to field first. They successfully reduced the Blackcaps to 19/2 in the powerplay.

However, a solid 159-run partnership between Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra stabilized the innings and New Zealand made a comeback.

Afterward, Mohammed Shami made successful inroads and claimed 5 wickets to end the Kiwi innings at 273.

Kuldeep Yadav got two wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj got one wicket apiece in the game.

During the second innings, India got off to a flier with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill adding 71 runs.

Meanwhile, India did lose out on Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Suryakumar Yadav in the middle overs but Kohli soldiered on.

He and Ravindra Jadeja ensured India reached the target with two overs to spare.

Unfortunately, Kohli couldn’t reach his second consecutive century and equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 tons.

For New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson picked up 2 wickets while Trent Boult, Matt Henry, and Mitchell Santner got one wicket each.
