Mohammed Siraj claims the top spot in the latest ICC rankings

Indian speed-star Mohammed Siraj, has reclaimed the top spot in the latest ICC ODI bowlers ranking. Siraj’s record-breaking position in the Asia Cup final was reason behind his exponential surge. Mohammed Siraj, who was previously positioned at no. 9 spot in the rankings. This exceptional performance allowed Siraj to surpass renowned bowlers like Hazlewood, Trent Boult, Rashid Khan, and Mitchell Starc, solidifying his position as the world’s best ODI bowler.

Mohammed Siraj’s produced one of the greatest ODI spell in the Asia Cup finale.  His exceptional spell of 6/21 paved the way for Indian’s win. However, throughout the tournament, the Hyderabad-born star bowler displayed amazing figures, taking ten wickets at an average of 12.2.

However, this is not the first time the pacer has achieved this feat. He was the no.1 bowler at the start of the year too. This will definitely boost his confidence leading into the all important ODI World Cup.

Apart from Siraj, Shubman Gill were the top gainers

Along with Siraj, Indian’s young batting sensation Shubman Gill were the top gainers in the recent ICC rankings. Gill solidified his position at no. 2 spot, narrowing the gap between him and Babar Azam who is currently at top spot. The 24-year old batter accumulated 814 rating points, with just 43 points behind Babar Azam. However, Gill will have an opportunity to claim the top spot in the series against Australia.

All the Indian fans will be hoping that they continue their good run in the upcoming World Cup also. Both these players will play an important role for India in mega-event.
