New Zealand spinner, Mitchell Santner starred with both bat and ball against the Netherlands in yesterday’s game of the ODI World Cup.

Losing the toss, New Zealand batted first and they made the most of the opportunity as well.

They batted brilliantly and made 322/7 in their 50 overs and gave the Dutch the target of 323 to chase.

Meanwhile, in the first innings, Santner played a quickfire inning of 36* from 17 that bolstered New Zealand’s score.

During the last over of the first innings, Santner dispatched Bas de Leede’s last two balls for sixes.

Meanwhile, Santner hit a waist-high delivery for six that was awarded a no-ball by the umpire.

This gave Santner a free hit and one more ball to hit de Leede off the park and he did so once again to end things for his side.

The crowds went berserk after watching Santner’s blitzkrieg during the first innings.

He dismissed Max O’Dowd, Colin Ackerman, Scott Edwards, Roelof van der Merwe, and Ryan Klein to finish his figures with 5/59 in 10 overs.

Additionally, Santner also received the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance for New Zealand.
