Kane Williamson is eager to play India in the IND vs NZ semifinal clash of World Cup 2023. The first semifinal will be at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on November 15.

IND VS NZ SEMIFINAL

The IND vs NZ semifinal is on November 15 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After defeating Sri Lanka handily in their league match in Bengaluru, New Zealand advanced to the semifinals. Whereas India reached the semifinal, beating Sri Lanka by a margin of 302 runs. India will play against Blackcaps in Mumbai as India stands first and New Zealand fourth in the points table.

The captain of New Zealand, Kane Williamson, expressed his team’s excitement at the thought of playing India in the semifinals. Kane Williamson stated his eagerness to play against the hosts again in the 2023 World Cup. In their last league match on Thursday in Bengaluru, NZ defeated SL by five wickets. Kane Williamson after NZ vs SL said that,

“Hopefully we can get a couple of days off, we’ll be hanging around, not really sure what we’ll do. Playing semis is special but playing the home team will be challenging. Looking forward to it if we are fortunate enough to have it.” Kane further added,

“Really good performance. Early wickets and spin was a challenge through those middle overs. Pitch really slowed down later. The guys showed some good intent later with the chase so great performance overall. We thought there was going to be some weather later but there wasn’t any. Hard to read such things”

SEMIFINALS

Last season, India faced New Zealand in the semifinal of the ODI World Cup 2019, where NZ won by 18 runs. India’s heartbreak in the World Cup 2019 continued to pinch the fans for a long time. However, In the 2023 World Cup, the league match of IND vs NZ was conquered by India. After 20 years of jinx, India finally managed to defeat New Zealand. Therefore, the IND vs NZ semifinal will be a thrilling affair.
