Indian cricketers felicitated by BCCI after winning gold in Asian Games

Indian cricketers felicitated by BCCI in Delhi after winning gold in the Asian Games 2023. BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah graced the event. Indian Men’s and Women’s cricket teams clinched gold at the Asian Games 2023.

INDIAN CRICKETERS FELICITATED BY BCCI

India had a glorious campaign in the Asian Games 2023, winning 107 medals in the Asian Games. Indian medal tally comprises 28 golds, 38 silver, and 41 bronze. Moreover, India finished fourth of the nations participating in the Asian Games.

Indian cricketers had an exceptional stint as both men’s and women’s teams won gold at the Asian Games. In the women’s final against Sri Lanka, India won the match by 19 runs. Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, India scored 116 runs with the loss of seven wickets. In reply, Sri Lankan women, while chasing, could only make 97 runs with the loss of eight wickets.

Furthermore, talking about the men’s cricket final of the Asian Games, India was against Afghanistan. Indian cricket team’s skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, won the toss and elected to field first. Gulbadin Naib and company could only score 112 runs, losing five wickets. The Afghanistan cricket team collapsed in 18.2 overs. However, the game couldn’t continue due to rain. Ultimately, India won the finale due to better T20 rankings.

On October 10, Indian cricketers were felicitated by the BCCI in the presence of BCCI’s secretary Jay Shah and Roger Binny. The felicitation ceremony was in Delhi at Arun Jaitely Stadium. In the photo shared by the Indian cricket team’s Instagram post, Roger Binny and Jay Shah were seen posing with both men’s and women’s teams. Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi also graced the event. Moreover, PM Modi also presented a signed bat as a tribute.
