All of the drama between the fans unfolded on the upper stands of the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

India trample Sri Lanka by 41 runs in Super 4 clash

Talking about the game, India won the toss and decided to bat first against the hosts.

Riding high on their win against Pakistan in the previous game, India was once again off to a good start with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill adding 80 runs for the 1st wicket.

However, things started to take a turn for the worse from there because the spin unit of Sri Lanka, led by young Dunith Wellalage, completely trounced India.

Meanwhile, both Wellalage and Charith Asalanka recorded their career-best figures of 5/40 and 4/18 respectively.

In the second innings, Sri Lanka was looking good and on course to defeat India and remain alive in the competition.

However, India’s pacers and spinners got the better of the Lankan Lions as they were defeated by 41-runs.
