ICC World Cup 2023 viewership hikes by 22% with 60 billion minutes of watch-time

According to the recent reports, the viewership of ICC World Cup 2023 has increased by 22%. Not only that, but it has also accumulated an impressive 60 billion minutes of watch-time.


It is no surprise that the World Cup is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world. It’s great to see it’s still growing in popularity. The tournament has recorded a staggering 22% increase in viewership, with over 59 billion minutes of watch-time. This is significant growth in comparison to the 2019 edition. Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, has observed remarkable growth the viewership. For the first 11 matches of the World Cup 2023 which includes two matches played by Indian cricket team against Australia and Afghanistan the viewership has hiked by 22%. This is a remarkable growth in comparison to the 2019 World Cup.

Furthermore, the consumption among premium audience has also seen remarkable growth. While NCCS A viewership increased by 40%, NCCS B by 24%. The first 11 matches of the World Cup were watched by 268 million viewers. In addition, there is a 5% increase in working professional(22-40) watching the games in comparison to the 2019 edition. Moreover, the highest peak live happening of the tournament was 56 million viewers occurred during the India vs Australia match in Chennai on October 8.

The Star Sports has been producing the ICC Men’s World Cup in nine different languages. The live broadcasting languages are English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Furthermore, the broadcasters are also offering a range of non-live programming shows like ‘Follow the Blues’, ‘Game Plan’, ‘Match Point’, and ‘Cheeky Singles’ are .
