I could become a terrible captain after a single bad game: Rohit Sharma

Prior to the World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma responded to inquiries. The captain of India’s squad emphasized the need to maintain composure and not allow six victories cloud one’s judgment.

Rohit responded, “I know how this works, one bad game here and there and I will suddenly become a bad Captain,” to a journalist’s question about setting an example for others to follow.

“So I understand how it functions,” the Indian captain grinned.

Shane Watson compares India’s squad with 2003’s title-winning Australia squad

Shane Watson, a former all-rounder for Australia, has compared the current Indian cricket team’s performance at the ICC World Cup 2023 to that of the unbeatable Australian team that won the competition in back-to-back years in 2003 and 2007.

Speaking to the Times of India, Watson said, “They exude a similar aura“. He continued, “This team has absolutely no weakness, as was the case with the invincible Australian teams of the 2003 and 2007 World Cups. Just like that Aussie side, this team has quality world-class match-winners all around the team.

Watson was further impressed with the depth in India’s squad. “Once I saw the balance of the Indian team and the form of the players after two games, this thought occurred to me. They have just been so incredibly dominant and have a great chance of going through the tournament undefeated. A team has to be at their brilliant best to challenge this Indian side,” he remarked.

India’s seventh World Cup 2023 matchup is against a faltering Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has only won two of their first six games in the competition, indicating their lackluster performance. India, on the other hand, is dominating the competition after winning each of their six games. India will want to win the match to maintain their dominance
