Former South Africa pacer, Dale Steyn has showered massive praise on Pakistan’s Hasan Ali.

Yesterday, Ali looked in terrific form against the Netherlands as he picked up two wickets and gave only 33 runs.

Meanwhile, Hasan Ali was drafted quite late into Pakistan’s squad after Naseem Shah was ruled out due to injury.

In the game, the Men in Green managed to score 286 runs and asked the Netherlands to chase down 287.

However, the Dutch were reduced to just 205 and they lost the game by 81 runs against Pakistan.

On the other hand, Steyn was mighty impressed with Ali’s performance and stated that the pacer did not try to touch the speeds of 140-145 KMPH throughout the whole game.

Meanwhile, Ali also bowled a consistent line and length that proved to be the keys to his success in the game.

Says Steyn,

He (Hasan Ali) hasn’t taken the new ball for a while now. It disrupts things when you lose your usual fast bowling unit that opens the bowling. But he came in and did a wonderful job. He didn’t really try and get the pace up to that 140-145 KMPH. He was very effective on his line and length.

Steyn also seems impressed by Hasan Ali’s on-field demeanor

Additionally, in the game against the Netherlands, Hasan Ali showed positive behavior and demeanor throughout the game.

Furthermore, it looked as if the 29-year-old was enjoying himself fully in the middle as he troubled the Dutch batters.

Says Steyn on Ali’s genuine happiness in the game,

The other thing that I enjoyed about him was that he had a good smile on his face. It looked like he was enjoying himself. When you are enjoying yourself, things come a little bit easier.
