England squad is more of experienced players than the youngsters.

Butler on calling England a dad’s army

“I wouldn’t call it ‘Dad’s Army’ but we’re an ageing group,” skipper Jos Buttler said. “We’ve got a lot of experience in the format, so it won’t take quite as long to get back to feeling completely at home in 50-over cricket.”

Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, David Willey Reece Topley all are the players who are in England Squad for the World Cup. All these are injury prone players and are no longer youngsters. Joe Root, probably the best batsman of the English team has not got the timing right. He struggled a lot in the Ireland Series. Jofra Archer is traveling as a reserve player in the squad to India. Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes were not available for the First World Cup warm-up match for the team. The match was against the host country in Guhwati. However, due to the rain, the match was abandoned without a single bowl being bowled. India won the toss and chose to bat first against England. For the Indian team, all the players were fit and raring to go in the warm up match.

England were to play with just 13 players from the 15-member squad.
