On Wednesday, October 11 in Delhi, Match 09 of the World Cup 2023 pits India against Afghanistan. Afghanistan decided to bat first and scored 272/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Thanks to the outstanding innings of captain Hashmatullah Shahidi (80 off 88) and Azmatullah Omarzai (62 off 69).

The eagerly anticipated match between Virat Kohli and Naveen ul Haq took place in front of the fans as the Afghanistan seamer came out to bat in the 49th over of the innings.
