Babar Azam takes over Shubman Gill to top the ICC Men’s ODI batting Rankings. Virat Kohli is in third position, and Rohit Sharma is in fourth.
ICC MEN’S ODI RANKINGS
Pakistan cricket team’s skipper Babar Azam regained his position in the Men’s ODI batting Rankings, surpassing Shubman Gill. Shubham Gill is currently in the second position with 810 rating points. The Pakistani captain bears 824 rating points. The shuffle in the top two positions is because of Shubman’s absence from the ODI series against South Africa. As per the rankings declared on Wednesday, December 20, Babar Azam tops the list.
Pakistan is yet to participate in an ODI match since the World Cup campaign ended on November 11. The Babar Azam and company encountered England in their last league stage match of the 2023 ODI World Cup. As a result of Pakistan not playing a single ODI since the World Cup, Babar Azam’s rating point did not decline. On the other hand, Gill missing out on the ODI series against South Africa led to lowering his rating points. Moreover, following the list, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are still maintaining their positions, being third and fourth. While Virat Kohli owns 775 rating points, Rohit Sharma has 754. Australian Star opener David Warner is in fifth position with 745 rating points.
Furthermore, in the ICC Men’s ODI bowling Rankings, Keshav Maharaj stands at the number one position with 715 rating points. Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood and spinner Adam Zampa are at second and fourth positions respectively. In the meantime, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj holds the third position, bearing 685 rating points. Moreover, India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has fifth position in the latest list. Bumrah holds 671 rating points. Talking about the ICC Men’s all-rounder ODI Rankings, Shakib Al Hasan is at the pinnacle with 323 rating points.
