India’s quarter-final matches at the 2022 Asian Games against Malaysia and Indonesia had no result because of rain. India’s match was stopped during the second innings. The Pakistan’s game didn’t even start due to the rain.

Smriti Mandhana led the Indian women’s cricket team in the absence of regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur during their first match against Malaysia at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou. India played exceptionally well, scoring a huge total of 173 runs in just 15 overs. Malaysia’s bowling wasn’t very effective, and their fielding was also subpar, which contributed to India’s victory.

In the India-Malaysia cricket match at the 2022 Asian Games, Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana had a strong opening partnership. Mandhana scored 27 runs from 16 balls before getting out. While Verma continued her excellent form and made 67 runs from just 39 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues also played well, contributing 47 runs from 29 balls. And Richa Ghosh provided a quick 21 runs from seven balls in the end.

During India’s innings, there was a rain interruption, so the match was to 15 overs per side. When Malaysia began their second inning, the rain became heavier. And only two deliveries were bowled before the game was abandoned. India advanced to the semi-finals due to their impressive performance in the first inning and a higher seeding than Malaysia.

In the semi-finals of Asian Games, India’s women’s team will face the winner of the Bangladesh versus Hong Kong match, which is on September 22. The semi-final match will take place on September 24.
