Team India’s World Cup 2023 campaign has been near flawless, with excellent performances in every game that the side has competed in so far. India look determined to get their hands on the coveted title.
However, it appears like the squad has suffered a huge blow after skipper Rohit Sharma suffered an injury scare. In game 21 of the tournament, India chose to bowl first against New Zealand, and tragedy may have struck in the 10th over of the first innings when skipper Rohit Sharma had to step off the field.
Daryl Mitchell drove Mohammed Siraj’s final delivery of the tenth over onto mid-off. In an effort to stop the ball, Rohit dove, potentially injuring himself. With no update on the issue, the game continued with KL Rahul as the stand-in captain.
India hopes to extend its winning streak.
In terms of India’s performance at the ODI World Cup 2023 so far, the Men in Blue have been outstanding. India has won all four games it has played in the competition thus far.
So far, the team has gone unblemished against Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Team India takes against New Zealand in game 21 of the tournament at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, and the team will be looking to replicate their previous performances.
It’s worth remembering that New Zealand is also undefeated in the ODI World Cup 2023. The team defeated defending champions England in the competition’s season opening and has continued to perform admirably in successive matches.
